Woodbridge, VA: Awarded 12/23/2021, and starting on 01/01/2022 QED Enterprises, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned small business and SBA 8(a) contractor was awarded a contract to provide Occupational Health and Safety Services to the US Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving (BEP) and Printing in Ft. Worth, TX. QED was awarded the base plus four option year task order with a total contract value of $8.9M under their GSA One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) contract. QED holds two prime OASIS contracts in both the Small Business and 8(a) under subpool 1. They are also a prime on GSA’s STARS III Best-In-Class contract vehicle.
QED CEO Mark Witte said, “This is our first award under QED’s prime GSA OASIS contract vehicle, and we are excited to provide these critical occupational health and safety services to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. We are also happy to expand our geographical range so that we now have contracts in VA, MD, DC, CO, TX, and AK.”
The BEP WCF prints U.S. Currency. In general, the printing process consists of printing, examining, cutting and packaging functions. The BEP has many different industrial processes to support or produce currency, many of which include the use of ink, solvent, powered industrial trucks, metal fabrication machines and large printing presses.
QED is responsible for providing Safety and Industrial Hygiene services to BEP in order to
reduce occupational injuries, illnesses and meet regulatory requirements. Specific services include but are not limited to ergonomic assessments; industrial hygiene evaluations, sampling and analysis; occupational risk assessments; respiratory protection assessments; occupational safety and health training; safety and health regulatory compliance evaluations; incident investigations; safety inspections; managing safety programs and policies; and ensuring all International Organization for Standardization (ISO) elements are maintained accordingly
